GetSmarter | Brand partners
GetSmarter understands the importance of credibility with regard to education. We currently work with a number of different brand partners and industry experts from around the country to provide online short courses to working professionals throughout South Africa.
University of Cape Town short courses
GetSmarter currently works with four faculties at the University of Cape Town and delivers over 30 online short courses, all approved by the University of Cape Town. We work with the following faculties and departments:
- Law faculty – Law@Work
- Engineering faculty – Construction, Economics and Management Department
- Commerce faculty – School of Management Studies, Economics Department, Information Systems Department and College of Accounting
- Humanities faculty – Centre for Film and Media Studies
South African universities obtain accreditation for their qualifications through the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) of the Council on Higher Education (CHE). This body is recognised as the Education and Training Quality Assurance body (ETQA) by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Students receive a certificate issued by the University of Cape Town on completion of the course.
Random House Struik short courses
GetSmarter currently offers two writing courses, in conjunction with Random House Struik. Students receive a certificate issued by GetSmarter and Random House Struik on completion of the course.
@home approved short course
GetSmarter currently offers a Interior Design short course approved by @home. Students receive a certificate issued by GetSmarter and @home on completion of the course.
Seta Accreditation
GetSmarter is also the first and only entirely online training company to be accredited by any SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) as a provider of education and training in South Africa. Institutional accreditation number: 3692.
