Eduloan application process

GetSmarter has recently partnered with Eduloan, an educational finance specialist. If you need financial assistance with your course fees, you can apply for a study loan from Eduloan.

Who qualifies for an Eduloan?
In order to qualify for an Eduloan, the consumer* must:

1) Possess a green barcoded South African identity document
2) Be employed full time for the last six months
3) Have a healthy credit record

* The consumer is the person who will be repaying the loan.

How does the process work?

Step 1 – Request a quote from GetSmarter
Once you have completed the quote request form, a quote will be emailed to you, along with the Eduloan application form.

Step 2 – Complete Eduloan application
Print out and complete sections A1, A2, A3, A5 and A6 of the Eduloan application form. Ensure that the terms and conditions are signed and initialled where indicated.

Step 3 – Submit application to Eduloan
Email or fax your completed application form, together with the four supporting documents listed below, to janinew@eduloan.co.za or 021 461 8740.

a) The GetSmarter quotation
b) A certified copy of your South African identity document
c) A copy of your payslip (not older than 3 months)
d) Your bank statements for the past three months

Step 4 – Receive status of loan
Eduloans are approved or declined within one day of application. Eduloan will notify you by SMS whether your loan has been approved or declined.

Step 5 – Register for your GetSmarter course
Once you receive written confirmation that your Eduloan has been approved, you can register for the course by completing the online registration on the GetSmarter website, selecting "Eduloan payment" as the payment scheme and entering your Eduloan student number.

Please note: GetSmarter will consider all approved Eduloan applications to be confirmed course registrations. If you cancel your registration, you will be liable for all administrative fees incurred.
